Hi,
I'm Dodi, from Freiburg, and I grew up in beautiful Heidelberg. Alongside my studies, I began using art as a form of therapy and energy. In the following years, at a spiritual peak, I painted primarily in relation to my chaotic emotions and thoughts. The artwork quickly evolved into the controversial equation of God and water. This association attracted attention and sparked discussion. But why equate water and God?
The background to this was the death of a person very close to me, who took photographs and was equally passionate about painting. He was my rock in the storm. When he passed away in 2014, I was confronted with the question of theodicy. Why is there a God if he takes away the person I loved most? Who is God? So I created my own definition. I replaced God in all scriptures with the word "water" to avoid believing that God was a being and instead cling to a source of energy.
Today, this person is my source of energy. After his death, he taught me not to suppress my feelings. So instead I screamed through my art. I pursue my passion and create discussion and new perspectives. Water as a source of faith and a symbol of God in many colors.
